this fundraising event, we chose to donate part of the proceeds from the tournament to an organization that is very near and dear to my heart. For those of you who do not know, my husband is a first responder in the North Texas area. He has served his department and that
community for nearly 26
years. I am proud of him
and proud of what he
does. We chose to honor
an organization driven by
helping the families of fallen
first responders in the State
of Texas. The Texas Line of
Duty Death Task Force has
been instrumental in helping
not only the families of the
fallen, but also offering peer
support, crisis intervention,
and support for communities
like Uvalde after the recent
events that devastated that community and its first responders. They receive funding from various groups, but it’s never enough for them to reach every family affected by a loss.
As the wife of a first responder, seeing the turnout and support for the Task Force was heartwarming. Events
like this cannot succeed without the support of our membership and you all came through in a big way. It was an incredibly beautiful day for golf and the course was gorgeous from where
I stood, everyone had a great time helping us raise money.
Let’s not forget our Cheat4Charity
and Michael Furrh for offering a new way to help raise funds. We appreciate everyone who participated and cheated to help the Texas LODD Task Force. We appreciate Mr. Furrh providing some entertainment on hole 10. He
brought a unique energy to the course.
Keep an eye out for additional fundraising events hosted by the DPC of Texas. For August 11 or 8-1-1 Day, we will be hosting
a Clay Shoot at Elm Fork Shooting Sports in Dallas and our Permian Basin Chapter will host an excavation safety day in Monahans. In conjunction with the Texas811 Damage Prevention Summit, the 24th Annual DPC of Texas Golf Tournament will be held at Indian Creek Golf Club in Carrollton, TX on
October 5th, 2022.
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
